Job Position: Tower Foreman
Type: Full-Time
Location: Spokane, WA
Pay: $29.00 Hourly
Weis Towers is looking for a motivated and skilled Tower Foreman to join our Team of Telecommunications Professionals. The Tower Foreman will supervise and perform construction duties at telecommunications sites, oversee a two-person tower crew, and supervise subcontractors, and job site personnel to complete the scope of work assigned. Weis Towers will be working directly with Inland Cellular on projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs installation, inspection, and maintenance services for wireless radio and antenna systems on towers, rooftops, and other elevated structures in conjunction with the Crew Foreman and Tower Technician(s)
- Perform ground-based civil scopes when applicable in support of radio systems cabling, grounding, interconnects, and/or conduits
- Adhere to Industry safety and quality control requirements at all times; Ensure all assigned personnel adhere to the same
- Train, direct, and assist Crew personnel with effective completion of assigned tasks
- Dedication to continued training and professional development
- Maintain equipment and vehicles in a clean and operational condition at all times
- Lead and direct crew members
- Provides suggestions and recommendations for hiring, firing, and training of employees
- Provide suggestions and recommendations for employee advancements, compensation, promotions, production, efficiency, or other status changes
- Full understanding of a job or project scope of work (SOW)
- Full understanding of the method of procedures (MOP) and practices to perform the assigned job/project. Ability to write a detailed MOP
- Schedules employee work and work hours for assigned employees
- Directs and plans the work of assigned employees
- Determines proper project techniques for assigned employees
- Maintains job records for use in managing or control
- Work with the Construction Manager to determine materials, equipment, and tools to be used for assigned projects
- Reads, interprets and builds according to design site plans and layouts
- Controls the flow and distribution of materials and supplies
- Plans and controls the job budgets
- Performs inspection of entire installs. Troubleshoots problems with installs. Captures and provides closeout packages.
- Takes full responsibility for crew safety. Ensures crew members are in compliance with company and customer safety requirements. Inspects all tools and rigging gear to ensure they are safe to use
- Reports any workers’ comp injuries or other incidents
- Other closely related work may include physical tasks and menial tasks such as timesheet and other recordkeeping, completing Job Safety Analysis, adjusting equipment and tools
- Knows the hazards associated with tower climbing, construction equipment, and working on or near energized
- Certification with all test equipment (Anritsu sweep gear, PIM gear, fiber testing, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be flexible to work overtime (weekend and evening work sometimes required)
- Good communication skills, reading and writing skills (English)
- Good computer skills. Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Must be able to accommodate out-of-town travel, if required
- Must be comfortable climbing and working at heights on towers, rooftops, water towers, and other elevated structures
- Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.
- Working knowledge and understanding of diagnostic test equipment (Sweep/Fiber/PIM testing, etc).
- Must have experience stacking self-support towers, installing waveguides, antennas, and microwave dishes
- RF Awareness, replacement, and maintenance i.e., coax, jumpers, TMA’s, connectors, and weatherproofing
- Experienced with custom tower rigging techniques
- Experienced with all manners of troubleshooting e.g., RETs, GPS antenna system, RF noise floor, TMA gain, tower light systems, VSWR, microwave systems, etc.).
- Proficient with the completion of closeout packages
WORK EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Clean Driving Record & Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to and from work
- One year of Tower Foreman experience (preferred)
- Climbing Certification
- Fall Protection & Rescue Training Certificate
- OSHA 10-Hour Certificate
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Andrews, RFS, and PPC Certifications
- Sweep & PIM Certificates

Job Position: Wireless Tower Technician
Type: Full-Time
Location: Spokane, WA
Pay: $25.00 Hourly
Weis Towers is looking for a motivated and skilled Wireless Tower Technician. The successful candidate will need to be knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of running the tower top and bottom, with attention to all jobs being completed quickly, accurately, and efficiently. This position does require travel. Weis Towers will be working directly with Inland Cellular on projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Climb towers to lead in the installation, replacement, and troubleshooting of wireless equipment based on direction from Foreman and Construction Manager
- Able to run the top independently
- Always up the tower unless the Foreman is absent
- Proficient with Capstan Hoist
- Proficient with Gin Pole
- Learn how to SWEEP, PIM, Fiber Test, Volt Meter
- Lead the crew on the tower
- Understand and comply with DOT regulations
- Perform tasks to facilitate timely job completion
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Read Scope of Work (SOW) documents and deliver project outcomes to scope and as directed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Use hand and power tools proficiently
- Follow directions well
- Commitment to excellence and high standards
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team environment
- Willing to work outside of normal business hours (shift work), including nights and weekends, as needed
- Use of PM gear, SWEEP gear, Fiber Test gear, climbing gear, capstan hoist, rigging, load ropes
- Utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
- Able to lift, carry, push, pull 75+lbs
- Work environment is outside exposed to the elements with wind noise
- Ability to work at heights of 180+ft
- Willingness to mentor/train others professionally, and to be mentored/trained
