Job Position: Wireless Tower Technician
Type: Full-Time
Location: Spokane, WA
Pay: $22.00-$28.00 Hourly, plus Tower Pay Rates
Weis Towers is looking for a motivated and skilled Wireless Tower Technician. The successful candidate will need to be knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of running the tower top and bottom, with attention to all jobs being completed quickly, accurately, and efficiently. This position does require travel. Weis Towers will be working directly with Inland Cellular on projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Climb towers to lead in the installation, replacement, and troubleshooting of wireless equipment based on direction from Foreman and Construction Manager
- Able to run the top independently
- Always up the tower unless the Foreman is absent
- Proficient with Capstan Hoist
- Proficient with Gin Pole
- Learn how to SWEEP, PIM, Fiber Test, Volt Meter
- Lead the crew on the tower
- Understand and comply with DOT regulations
- Perform tasks to facilitate timely job completion
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Read Scope of Work (SOW) documents and deliver project outcomes to scope and as directed

- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team environment
- Willing to work outside of normal business hours (shift work), including nights and weekends, as needed
- Use of PM gear, SWEEP gear, Fiber Test gear, climbing gear, capstan hoist, rigging, load ropes
- Utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
- Able to lift, carry, push, pull 75+lbs
- Work environment is outside exposed to the elements with wind noise
- Ability to work at heights of 180+ft
- Willingness to mentor/train others professionally, and to be mentored/trained
WORK EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Clean Driving Record & Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to and from work
- Three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent
- DOT Eligible
- Climbing Certification
- Fall Protection & Rescue Training Certificate
- OSHA 10-Hour Certificate
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Andrews, RFS and PPC Certifications
- Sweep & PIM Certificates

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wireless Telecom Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee telecom construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in managing complex telecom projects from inception to completion.
Primary Location: Spokane, WA
Employment Status: Full-Time
Schedule: Normal business hours, flexibility during travel of site visits
Compensation: $65,000-$115,000
Responsibilities
- Directly advise and influence decisions of District and/or Program and Project Managers in all aspects of construction work.
- Actively participate in and make recommendations in the Vendor selection process.
- Attend deployment and other customer meetings as a subject matter expert.
- Develop customer relationships that may result in influencing customers to award service work.
- Develop and maintain the project schedule for internal and external reporting
- Make regular trips to sites during construction, including bid walks, pre-con walks, in-progress site visits, punch walks, and construction closeouts.
- Provide direction to general contractors when doing groundwork.
- Understand prevailing rates for all construction work and ensure is receiving competitive rates for quality work.
- Estimate construction material and labor costs utilizing existing databases for typical wireless telecommunication tower and monopole construction projects.
- Responsible to negotiate costs within scope of project, hold Vendor accountable to ensure budget is maintained; ensure District and/or Program and Project Managers and customers are aware of
issues that will impact project completion or cost. - Responsible for problem-solving issues that may occur on-site and making recommendations based on priority and need to ensure the project and budget is maintained.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with construction standards, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure accurate and complete files are maintained for projects, appropriate closeout documents are distributed in a timely manner, and they comply with corporate and customer standards.
- Ensure that all jobs are maintained in a project tracking system with complete accuracy
- Act as safety observer and Quality Assurance representative while at the site, ensuring compliance with safety program and related workmanship practices.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of budget development and execution
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Ability to direct and diagnose workflow problems and critical paths and institute remedies
- Customer service orientation with a strong problem-solving approach - strong interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and timelines highly desired
- Experience with the tower and monopole construction industry preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required daily
- Proficiency with MS Outlook, Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
- Able to comprehend and learn local and State building codes, permitting, and zoning requirements
- Highly skilled in dealing with key customers and meeting project deadlines.
Work Experience/Certifications/Licenses
- BS in Project Management or Construction Management Degree (preferred)
- Will consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
- Prior Project Management or Construction Management background (highly desired)
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Clean Driving Record & Valid Driver's License, and reliable transportation to and from work
- Minimum four (4) years of telecommunications/wireless construction experience
- Familiarity with test equipment and techniques for performing RF Sweep tests, OTDR, Power Meter, and Passive Intermodulation (PIM) testing for SCS.
- Working knowledge of NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards.
